Don't believe the hype. This place was hyped up to me for years. I use to live down the street so I always drive by this place.
I went in we ordered some food. The food is very well priced, I mean cheap, the food is cheap. Is the quality cheap? No, the quality is fine, but the food lacks flavor. I wasn't impressed with the amount of food you get although for the price I understand why the portions are on the small side.
The service was good, fast and friendly.
I don't know, try it once and if you like it go back. I won't though, my experience here was fine, but I wasn't impressed. -

Vietnamese deli place, definitely not a fast food chain. Came in at 2:20, pass the lunch hour and I waited 15 mins for my grilled beef banh mi. 2 People after me already got their sandwich. When I asked the worker to check mine, she said they're still making it? What a joke!!!
Parking- good luck, this place share with the other business.
Employees- so many of them running around and not a single smile on their faces. Unhappy? I have no clue.
Will I come back? Not sure. Banh mi tasted ok, not the best. You get what you paid for. -

TLDR.
I've been on the hunt for a really good banh mi since coming out to San Diego. K Sandwiches seemed to be the most popular spot for a good banh mi, so I decided to pay them a visit.
Upon walking in, I noticed it was a bit empty during the evening time. There was no line, which made it easy for me to ask the employee a ton of questions ( Im good at that ) . I asked which sandwich was the most popular, and he had said the grilled pork. I usually don't eat meat very often, but I decided to try it anyway. The employee had mentioned that they're known to have " The best banh mi in town" , so I had really high expectations. As soon as I took a bite , I was really disappointed. The bread was soggy and stale, the fresh cilantro and jalapeno were lacking, and the meat had the same texture and taste as beef jerky which DOES NOT belong inside a banh mi. Their iced coffee was good, but it wasn't strong and I didn't find it to be anything special. It tasted very similar to Golden donut's coffee. After eating here, I was sick for the next 3 days and couldn't eat anything.
Overall, I dont think they have the best banh mi in town. -

pros:
- fast service
- ample seating
- unique snacks and drinks
cons:
- fatty, lukewarm meat
- high bread to meat ratio
- bland sandwich
bottom line: sub-par bahn mi sandwiches for cheap.
i was a bit disappointed by this place. ordered a pork bahn mi and got a 12 inch sub: sourdough bread, cilantro, pickled onions, carrots, and pork. the first few bites were so fatty that i couldn't chew the meat, but it got a little better in the middle of the sandwich. however, the meat that was there was bland and overcooked. while that sort of quality may be the bar for a 5$ footlong sandwich, and while i left the place full, i don't think i'll be back anytime soon. -

This is a pretty overdue greeting, but welcome back K Sandwiches!
Used to visit this place often back in the day for Banh Mi and croissants but since I don't live in SD anymore visits are far and few in between, but I'm glad they reopened. Storefront parking may be a challenge depending on the time of day. Prices are higher than I remember which makes sense because of inflation and such. The sandwiches are still good; baguettes are crispy and a bit longer than other Banh Mi places (I tend to get the Special).
While there are other food and drink items on the menu, I usually stick to their sandwiches and will be coming back every now and then when I'm nearby.
